TrevorTCN has chosen to focus on the “implementation” of two important Kingdom building projects in NM Bay namely the Nehemiah Vision (www.tcn.org.za) and JUST1HR (www.just1hr.org.za).

To enable the TCN coordinators to spend more time in the mission field it was decided to downscale our “office” operations. In order to do this we approached two churches who would be willing to “house” and assist us with the running of our “back office” systems. Although the two projects are complementary we decided it would be more effective to drive them as two separate initiatives.

We approached Walmer Methodist Church (WMC) to provide us with support to drive the Nehemiah Project. This means that TCN will vacate its current office. This will relieve us from all the requirements that go with the day to day demands of running an office. The coordinators will now function in the virtual space of cellphones, sms’s, what’s up and iPads.

We approached the Leva Foundation to assist us with the JUST1HR project. The Leva Foundation is an “umbrella” NPO (127-307 NPO) that makes it possible for city ministries to function without all the red tape to bog them down. They provide a service to assist ministries with their financial systems, administrative and technological needs. All future funding to support the above initiatives will be channelled to our projects through the Leva Foundations financial systems. This will enable TCN to deregister its current NPO and free it up to focus on the roll out of the above two projects and all the other ministries that have chosen to “run” with them. The Leva Foundation was approached because of its strategic focus on the same “target market” as the JUST1HR project namely the 20 to 40 year old age group.

The Nehemiah project will be overseen by the Senior City Church Leaders (Bishops’ Monthly Prayer Group) while the JUST1HR project will be overseen by a group of Christian Leaders from across the city. They are Bernie Dolley from the NGO coalition, Luvuyo Bangazi (NMBDA), Vuyo Bongela (NMMU), Ryan le Roux (Leva Foundation) and Trevor Jennings (TCN). Although functioning independently the two projects are interdependent as JUST1HR is seen as an effective vehicle to promote the city’s Nehemiah Vision.

The TCN coordinators will continue to meet with the Senior City Church Leaders and on their own monthly. They will continue to meet to pray together as a group weekly. The Executive Advisory Team of JUST1HR will meet for JUST1HR monthly while a broader media and communications advisory team will meet at least twice per annum.

A MOU between the parties will be concluded to ensure that expectations of both parties are clearly understood. We have set a target to have everything in place by the 1 August 2014.

Proverbs 11:14 “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.”

Proverbs 15:22 “Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.”
