Fatherhood: it’s complicated
“In South Africa, the majority of children grow up in homes without fathers. The nuclear family, as defined by Western culture (mom, dad and children), is not the norm”.  Heartlines has developed excellent resources to address the problem of Fatherhood in South Africa. One of these resources is Connect Groups, an easy and fun way to engage men on the topic of fatherhood.

“The silent scourge”
Overall, more than one in four people (27%) report having paid a bribe in the last 12 months when interacting with key public institutions and services. This is according to Heartlines. Heartlines is a South African-based NGO that aims to be part of addressing some of the issues facing society by helping move people from professed positive values to lived values. Heartlines is now offering a fresh new approach to tackling money issues. They call it “Values and Money” and comes in the form of a downloadable course. Read more about it here: July 2023 update

Fathers Matter Films
It is a well-known fact that most children in South Africa grow up in homes without fathers with devasting effects on children’s emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. Many children in South Africa today are at risk of becoming outcasts as a result of not having a father figure in their lives.
