555245_10200697389378234_1870538867_nThe purpose of the JUST1HR Leadership Forum is to serve our city by serving its leaders.  We seek to serve you by creating an environment where you can receive encouragement, engage around cutting edge leadership information and interact with other leaders who pour themselves out each day in their areas of influence.

Our next forum will be held for 59 minutes on Wednesday 28 May from 18h00 to 18h59 in the conference venue at Walmer Methodist Church.

We are very excited to engage around the topic: Leading in Africa.  Panel Discussion Luvuyo Bangazi, Vuyo Bongela and Afrika Mhlophe

At a recent, excellent talk by Luthando Prinsloo,  he suggested we are addicted to Western Management Practices to the exclusion of certain African wisdom and as a result are less effective and relevant in the way we lead.  In his book, Aferikan Fusion Leadingship, he shares a leadingship model which he presents as contextually relevant to leading in Southern Africa.  In it he introduces 6 concepts from Southern African culture and traditions, which, when appreciated, can be used to inform how we lead in Africa and allow us to do so in a contextually relevant and powerful way.

We are very excited to have three panellists who are prepared to help us engage with these 6 cultural concepts, to discuss how they are ‘violated’ by certain Western practices, and whether or not allowing them to inform how we lead in Southern Africa will prove wise and meaningful.

This will be a fascinating and helpful discussion.

It is essential that you RSVP if you are going to join us.  Please RSVP by 10am on Tuesday 27 May to Sue 0824176187, Trevor 0795041892, Denise 0415815726 or WMC 0415814301
